The Easy Way to Wax Your Snowboard

As I have learned early on, waxing my snowboard on a regular basis is an important part of maintaining my gear - and makes for better rides.

Waxing your board can be easy - or it can be hard - or it be expensive. Personally, I choose the easiest option possible, or I just won't do it.

I have found that liquid wax products are the easiest to use - and they work pretty well. From what I understand, they have a better bonding capability, and therefore stay on longer than other paste waxes, and this is a good thing.

SWIX makes a great wax + rub-on applicator that polishes your board as well, and the price is right at about $15 for a medium-sized can. I picked mine up at Sports Authority. They may also carry them at REI or other local sporting goods stores.

Pick up a base cleaner when you buy your wax (you'll ususally find the two together), as you'll want to clean off any dirt or residual wax before you apply your new coat of wax. The process is easy, quick, and you'll be glad you took the short amount of time to do it.
